Recent evidence indicates that many Nigerians, particularly older adults, live with undiagnosed or inadequately controlled non-communicable diseases, notably hypertension and diabetes mellitus, reflecting persistent gaps in awareness, screening and access to appropriate care (Idris et al., 2020; WHO, 2024). In response to this public health concern, the Good Shepherd Health and Welfare Foundation (GOSHWELF) is organising a free medical outreach to provide blood pressure and fasting blood glucose screening for less-privileged older persons aged 50 years and above in Tunkun Community and its environs.
Eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to attend and participate in the screening. Beneficiaries should take their breakfast after completing the screening programme.
